Justice Minister Tibor Navracsics has declared that Hungary disagrees with a European court verdict and will not pay up in the case of János Fratanolo. The Hungarian government had fined Fratanolo, former president of the Hungarian Workers Party, for wearing the red star in 2006.

The city of Debrecen will formally file a request today for a daily Ft 10 million indemnity payment from project managers who are far behind schedule on building a second tram line in the city. Mayor Lajos Kósa told a Thursday press conference that the ATK-Debrecen consortium was to have completed the project on May 31, but only 23% of the track and 32-33% of the terminal is completed.
