Editors have never been a band who do what’s expected. When they emerged in the early 2000s, university friends from Birmingham, they were swept into a wave of indie groups with whom they had little in common beyond playing guitars.

This year the biggest names playing here in Hungary include Halsey, Liam Gallagher, Janelle Monáe, Martin Garrix, Fred again.., Sam Smith, Skrillex, and Stormzy. As headliners they all get to play on the mega Main Stage, but there are plenty of other venue options showcasing every genre of music under the sun.

The expat team from KaraokePlus Budapest recently made a video-mosaic cover of Gábor Presser's famous tune "Neked irom a dalt" (I write a song for you) to salute Hungary as home away from home during the Covid-19 lockdown.

If the epidemiological situation allows festivals to be organized, the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) plans to distribute many times the previous subsidies, the CEO of the organization Zoltán Guller announced in an interview published on the MTÜ’s website.
