Discover New Styles: Budapest Fashion Week, 1 - 7 September
- 4 Aug 2025 3:36 PM
This promises to be the most diverse programme to date. Sustainability and recycling will play a leading role, with workshops, eco-conscious design projects, and collections crafted from repurposed materials.
The event also highlights the fusion of fashion with other art forms, offering jewellery-making sessions, photography showcases, and contemporary art collaborations.
Gastronomy will join the celebration too, with themed tastings, brunches, and exclusive dinners pairing food culture with design and aesthetics.
Designs from Czechia, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia and Ukraine, as well as Hungary, will be shown during the week, including those of recently graduated fashion and textile design students of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and the Budapest Metropolitan University (METU).
The streets, cultural spaces and shops of Budapest will be teeming with fashion industry programmes, lectures, pop-up events, promotions, showroom openings and professional forums.
On September 4, the MOME Fashion Show and exhibition will be take place at its Zugligeti Street campus.
From September 5 to 7, catwalk shows will take place in the Apollo Gallery and the Millenaris D building, while the National Dance Theatre will host the Fashion Hub, roundtable discussions and industry workshops over the weekend.
Foreign fashion magazine editors, renowned stylists and industry professionals are expected to attend the event which generally attracts 5,000-6,000 people each season.
Fashion Week also stimulates demand for domestic brands as well as acting as a bridge between the region's countries, the organisers say.
"Reflecting the innovative thinking of the next generation"
Around two-thirds of the brands presented will be from young designers, while the close link between design colleges and the profession is strengthened thanks to hundreds of budding fashion tailors and seamstresses getting the chance to view the fashion shows each season.
Fashion Week opened at the National Museum on September 1, other events will take place at the MOME campus, the Apollo Gallery, Millenaris Park, and the National Dance Theatre during the week.
At the National Dance Theatre, the Fashion Hub will host 13 engaging programmes ranging from interactive workshops to talks with industry figures. Highlights include:
-
A lecture by Ryan Thomas Roth, an international beauty industry leader of Hungarian descent, reflecting on global beauty trends and personal stories.
-
Enikő Sütő, one of Hungary’s best-known models, revisiting career milestones in a fashion icons series.
-
Rising stars Evelyn Nagy, Márta Varr, and Laura Tóth sharing their experiences and challenges in the international modelling scene.
-
A session on the art of fragrance creation led by perfumer Zsolt Zólyomi.
Additional events will include sustainability-themed studios, creative workshops, and discussions on AI’s role in fashion.
