Police Raid Department of Internal Medicine at Semmelweis University

Semmelweis University in Budapest is cooperating fully with investigative authorities, the institution announced on its website on Thursday morning, following a police operation on Wednesday at the university’s Department of Internal Medicine and Haematology.
The head of the department said the police action was related to an investigation launched in connection with a clinical trial, the statement said.
It added that Semmelweis University is cooperating fully with the investigating authorities, but in light of the ongoing proceedings, the university is currently unable to provide further information.
Online news portal portfolio.hu reported on Wednesday that the Rapid Response Police deployed a large contingent to the central building on the Semmelweis University campus.
In response to an inquiry, the National Police Headquarters' press office confirmed the deployment and stated that the action is related to ongoing criminal proceedings.
