Pier B, a brand new passenger terminal section of more than 10 000 square meters adjoining Terminal 2B, was inaugurated today at Budapest Airport. Going forward, the facility will be used to handle non-Schengen flights, including the wide body aircraft flying intercontinental long haul routes to North America, China and the Persian Gulf.

After successful launch of long-haul flights to New York City and Chicago as well as between Budapest and Kraków , now its time for LOT’s flights to London City Airport (LCY). Starting from 19 February 2019 LOT will offer up to two flights a day to be operated by the newly acquired Embraer 190s.

Budapest is the second fastest-developing urban economy in Europe, making it twelfth on a list on which it occupied 201th place last year, the study ‘Global Metromonitor 2014‘, published by US thinktank Brookings Institution, reveals. The first places on the list are occupied by Eastern Asian and Turkish cities, with Istanbul being the only geographically European city among them.
