Hungary To Mark 500th Anniversary Of Reformation With 400 Events

Close to 400 programmes will be organised by Hungary in 2017 to mark the 500th anniversary of Reformation in Europe. The series of events opened in Budapest’s Palace of Arts (Müpa) on January 6. Throughout 2017 a variety of performances are planned, such as a rock version of Handel’s oratorio Messiah.
Zúzmara Winter Half Marathon, Hungexpo Budapest, 14 January

Runners are going to gather at the Hungexpo premises to run a half marathon in the middle of winter. Race starts at 10am, while from 1:45pm participants can challenge themselves over a 10 km or a 5 km distance during the Running Festival, happening at the same place in the afternoon hours.

The aim of V4 Jazz Festival is to connect the outstanding jazz formations of the ‘Visegrád Four’. Polish, Czech, Slovak, and Hungarian clubs and bands nowadays have more intense relationships with American or Western-European organizations and bands than with each other.

It is served hot or warm and is alcoholic, although there are non-alcoholic versions of mulled wine.
