Washington has embraced Hungarian folk culture, which is capable of innovation, colourful and traditional yet modern – said Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics this Tuesday in Budapest at the premiere of the documentary ‘Hungarian Fence’, dealing with Hungary’s status as guest of honour at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington last year.

New all-stars were added to the VOLT Festival line-up. The organizers announced Thirty Seconds To Mars, You Me at Six, Birdy and many others to this year’s program. A mysterious post on the official Facebook page revealed that the event will be one day longer this time, however details will follow only next week.

If you fancy a taste of a pig that came close to extinction just a few decades ago, the magnificent mangalica meat is said to be even tastier and healthier than regular pork.

The organizers of Sziget have announced a new list of all-star names, already confirmed for the 2014 event. In the heart of Budapest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Skrillex, Jake Bugg and London Grammar will also perform. The Island of Freedom is held between 11-18 August.
