Today, Thursday 3rd March at 7:00 pm the All Nations Lions Club (ANLC) hosts its traditional Charity Gala. The theme of this year’s ANLC Gala is “Music throughout the world” and covers music from around the globe.

As her name suggests, Caitlin hails from a Welsh family and studied European Studies at Cardiff University. She joined the FCO in 1990 after a stint working at an Argentinian Bank where she was able to use her Spanish. She also speaks French and now a little Hungarian.

In 2015, as in previous years, Tesco customers across Central Europe showed great kindness: 419 tonnes of food have been donated to the food bank collections hosted in the stores in Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. Tesco has been organising these annual collections in partnership with food banks and their selfless volunteers have been helping them to feed people for several years.

According to a recent survey conducted by K&H Bank, Hungarians spend 43 thousand forints (approx. €140) on average during Christmas shopping season, including 29 thousand forints spent on gifts and presents.

Consumer prices in Hungary fell by an annual 0.4% in September, the Central Statistical Office said. Prices fell at a faster pace than the 0.1% drop estimated by analysts in London. In August, the annual CPI was zero. In a month-on-month comparison, prices dropped by 0.6% in September. Seasonally-adjusted core inflation, which excludes volatile food and fuel prices, was 1.3%.
