Retail sales in Hungary climbed an annual 6% in May, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data. Retail sales rose by 5.5% when adjusted for calendar year effects. The increase in turnover at retailers was apparently due to price hikes, as the actual amount of sold decreased 0.2%, Nielsen said.
