The domestic market of online payments has boasted dynamic growth in recent years as the volume of such transactions rocketed tenfold. According to the National Bank of Hungary, bank cards issued within the country were used to pay out HUF 375 billion through the internet already in 2016.

Hungarians spent on average HUF 82,900 per month last year. Most of this was spent on utilities and food, but expenses were higher in all categories – entertainment, alcohol, education, health – than in 2016, figures released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.
Homes Below HUF 15 Million Increasingly Rare In Budapest

This year so far 1,300 properties have been sold at below HUF 15 million through the network of residential real estate trading and advisory firm Otthon Centrum (OC). Very few of these were sold in Budapest, the majority being located outside the capital city.
