After last year’s sold-out success, the Budapest Independent Film Festival is returning to the beloved Kino Cafe Mozi on 9-10 February 2024 for one more unique cinematic experience. This year’s edition features short and feature-length independent films by Hungarian and international filmmakers.

A packed house of good-hearted guests from Hungary’s international community united on Bonfire Night in Budapest at XpatLoop's 23rd anniversary event, sponsored by B+N. Thanks to all involved a record total of HUF 7.5+ million was raised for local charities.
Ragnar Almqvist, Irish Ambassador to Hungary

The son of a Swedish folklorist and Irish writer, Ragnar Almqvist was born and raised in Dublin. Educated through the Irish language, he took degrees in English literature, German and Economics, joining Ireland’s diplomatic service in 2008. He is joined in Budapest by his wife, Ailbhe Keating, and daughters, Freja and Sadhbh.
