The government will offer a Ft 4.5 billion subsidy to save the clothing manufacturer Styl Ruhagyár in Szombathely, Vas County, Napi Gazdaság reports, citing the agenda of the city council, which will vote on the matter on Thursday. Parliament approved a law on setting up a fund to compensate people who suffered losses because of the bankruptcy of brokerage firm Quaestor. In line with the law approved with 185 votes for and 5 against, compensation can be claimed between May 6 and June 5.

Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH) on Monday said it fined Auchan Magyarország 1 billion forints (EUR 3.3m) for charging suppliers to stock their products in its inventory. GVH found that Auchan had unilaterally charged about three-quarters of its non-food suppliers the fee in 2006-2014.
