The Hungarian Scientists Club was formally opened at the Hungarian embassy in London on Friday. Undersecretary Péter Prõhle and ambassador Péter Szabadhegy delivered opening speeches. Some 70 university professors and scientific co-workers founded the club with the chief aim of establishing contacts and presenting the results of Hungarian science in Great Britain.

Mr Iain Lindsay OBE has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Hungary in succession to Mr Jonathan Knott, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
