The new film Kincsem has enjoyed the best opening week of any Hungarian production in more than ten years, seen by some 72,000 moviegoers, and generating Ft 100 million in ticket sales.

I was born in Budapest on 15th February 1970. At the age of five I entered the world of high performance sport as a member of KSI – Central Sports School gymnastics team. In 1986 I joined the Postás Sports Club and then, through a scholarship, continued in the USA with the University of Minnesota’s gymnastics team. It was there that I concluded my active career in elite sport.

“Strangled”, a film based on the real story of a murder in post-1956 Hungary, won Best Feature Film at the closing gala of the Hungarian Film Week on Sunday. The film is based on the story of the bloody murder of a woman in 1957 and the investigation obstructed by the Communist regime in postrevolution Hungary.

The annual Hungarian Film Week got under way in Budapest on Sunday evening. Screenings are also scheduled in Debrecen, Kaposvár, Miskolc, Nyíregyháza, Pécs, Székesfehérvár, Szeged, Szolnok, Szombathely and Szentendre.
