Hungarian Film Kincsem Box Office Success
The new film Kincsem has enjoyed the best opening week of any Hungarian production in more than ten years, seen by some 72,000 moviegoers, and generating Ft 100 million in ticket sales.

The movie directed by Gábor Herendi is based on the true story of a racehorse in the late 19th century.

Its budget of nearly Ft 3 billion makes Kincsem the most expensive Hungarian production of all time.

It is being screened in more than 80 cinemas throughout the country.

Hungarian films Üvegtigris 2 and Szabadság, szerelem attracted 114,055 and 72,832 spectators, respectively, in their opening weeks in 2006.
