Anti-corruption protests took place across Hungary today. In Budapest the demonstration started in front of the Eiffel Palace Office Building near the Nyugati (western) train station. A few minutes before the scheduled start of the protest it seemed as though police and members of the press would outnumber the protesters.

The new mobile radar units will may well scare speeders, as the related fines are not cheap (see table of fines below). The new generation of mobile radar units are far more efficient than their predecessors, and speeding is not the only thing they can detect. So the time has come for motorist to really concentrate on driving rather than chatting on their phones without hands-free car kits.

Uber is a ridesharing service that recently showed up in Hungary. Taxi companies are understandably frustrated and Uber further provokes them with tiny things like free weekends. Not so long ago, Hungary’s taxi fares have been unified regardless of which company you choose.
