Advertising tax in Hungary is set to be raised from the current 5.3% to 9% as of June, for taxpayers with revenue exceeding HUF 100 million, according to a proposed amendment submitted by Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga, Hungarian wire service MTI reported today. The amendment would also allow companies tax-free self-advertising.

A survey conducted by health-care research firm Szinapszis Kft. has found that the giving and accepting of so-called gratuity money – unauthorized rewards given to doctors and nurses in exchange for preferential medical care – is considered to be a crime by 80 percent of Hungarians.

I was born in Budapest on 15th February 1970. At the age of five I entered the world of high performance sport as a member of KSI – Central Sports School gymnastics team. In 1986 I joined the Postás Sports Club and then, through a scholarship, continued in the USA with the University of Minnesota’s gymnastics team. It was there that I concluded my active career in elite sport.
