The Socialist Party plans to transform its former headquarters building into a logistics and co-ordination centre for NGOs engaged in helping migrants, it was announced on Wednesday. Border Fence In Hungary May Be Built By Prisoners

The government will have prisoners construct the fence on the border with Serbia, Népszava writes today, based on a cabinet resolution published in official gazette Magyar Közlöny. The resolution reassigns Ft 6.57 billion from government reserves to cover costs expected to arise at corrections institutes. The sum is identical to the cost of building the barrier as announced by the government.

The UN refugee agency told MTI it was “deeply concerned” by the proposed amendments to Hungary’s laws on asylum submitted to parliament earlier this week.
