Alan Sonfist (New York, 1946–) is regarded by art historians as the greatest living exponent of the movement known as land art, earth art, or environmental art. It was a contemporary painting auction and gala dinner for charity, to support early intervention for children with Down Syndrome. One of the most important missions of the Association is the early integration of all disabled children among their healthy fellows.

Étienne Méhul (1763–1817), one of the most significant and influential opera composers during the French revolution and the politically turbulent decades thereafter, wrote some forty works for musical theatre. Enjoying the confidence of his friend and rival Luigi Cherubini, and even of Napoleon, Méhul expanded the range of themes adaptable to the opera genre, enriching its musical landscape.
