Five people were held in custody on Thursday after authorities seized weapons in a coordinated raid carried out in several Hungarian localities, police said in a statement. All suspects were linked to the paramilitary organisation Magyar Nemzeti Arcvonal (Hungarian National Front), whose leader was arrested in October after fatally shooting a police officer in Bőny.

The Danube-Ipoly National Park Directorate's new visitors' centre and a new educational nature trail have been inaugurated in Királyrét, 60 kilometres north of Budapest. The ecotourism institution, which has been developed into a visitors' centre out of a forest school, was inaugurated by Deputy State Secretary András Rácz and Government Commissioner Richárd Tarnai.

"The Slovak cabinet has approved a bilateral agreement on building two bridges over the Ipoly river in northern Hungary. One bridge will link Ipolydamasd and Chlaba and the other will join Vamosmikola to Pastovce. The two governments last held talks on the projects on February 7.
