Fifty thousand ethnic Hungarians of Vojvodina, Serbia, have obtained Hungarian citizenship. The 50 000th oath of citizenship was made under festive circumstances on November 13 in Subotica (Szabadka).

The Gyula local council has won Ft 1.995 billion in non-refundable EU funding from the New Széchenyi Plan for renovating the Harruckern-Wenckheim-Almásy castle, Fidesz mayor Ernő Gergényi told reporters in Gyula, south-east Hungary on Monday.

Team GB might not have won any medals on 8 August (although we were very happy to see Hungary doing so well), but for me it was a day of firsts: Day 1 of the Festival was also the first anniversary of my arrival in Budapest and I made my first visit to the Sziget Festival and my first speech in Hungarian.
