A new pay-by-phone parking system was introduced throughout Hungary on July 1. The system is operated as a state monopoly by Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt. The new service is available to anyone and anywhere under the same terms. Drivers can choose to make payments directly to Nemzeti Mobilfizetési or via Magyar Telekom, Telenor, Vodafone, Mpark, Evopay and Sense/Net Zrt.

The city of Budapest cancelled the operating licences of the four sightseeing bus companies in the capital from January 1 and extended them until March 30, due to an amendment of the law on national assets. The new regulation states that the operation of bus lines must be a monopoly of local governments.
