Gyula Molnár, former head of the Socialist Party’s Budapest chapter, was elected as the party’s new chairman at its weekend congress. Molnár was elected in the second round of voting, defeating former leader József Tóbiás, after none of the four candidates running for the party’s top spot were able to secure a majority in the first round.

Police arrested a British citizen on Saturday for allegedly selling drugs at a Budapest night club, the Budapest police department said on its website. Security at the club alerted police after they noticed the 26-year-old man “behaving strangely”.

The Hungarian government estimated that 27-28 passengers would use the nostalgia train recently built in Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbánʼs hometown, as such the European Union will not investigate the investment, state secretary Nándor Csepreghy told Hungarian news portal 444.hu.
