The colorful and diverse line-up of Sziget Festival 2013 is building up well, with 24 new acts freshly announced for various stages: many are new-comers to Sziget, but there will be many acts that have proven popular in previous editions of the event too. Breaking News: Blur, the legendary British band, and the winner of the Best European Major Festival award, Sziget Festival Budapest, have agreed to join forces in Hungary next year. Speaking about playing live in 2013 the band said: “Every show next summer will be very special – we can’t wait to get out and play for all our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while.”

A ceremony was held in the Parliament Building honouring the Hungarian medal winners of the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the 14th Summer Paralympic Games. The 31 medal winners and the sports professionals who helped their preparation were acknowledged by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President of Hungary János Áder and Speaker of Parliament László Kövér.
