Europe Day Festival to be Held in Downtown Budapest on 11th May

The announcement highlights that the festival tents will host creative activities, quizzes and games throughout the day for visitors, who can also learn about the European Union and the opportunities offered by membership.
Programs will start in the morning at Szabadság tér with the participants of a 21-kilometer running race organised in honor of the 21st anniversary will set off after a joint warm-up.
The race route will present 21 successful EU developments: one from each of the 19 counties, one from Budapest, and as an extra, one of the winning projects of the 2024 RegioStars competition.
The organisers say that this now traditional sporting event is so popular that registrations were almost filled almost immediately.
Among the runners who will be starting are actress Diána Nyári, Olympic silver and bronze medal swimmer László Cseh, television and radio presenters Tamás Gajdos and János Vadon, three-time Olympic champion water polo player Gergely Kiss, and dancer Júlia Széphalmi.
After the start of the running race, there will be children's programs and a wide range of entertainment, including concerts by Krisztián Grecsó and the Pici Szív Dance Band, the Rutkai Bori Band, and Apacuka. There will also be a puppet show by the Majorka Theatre.
The official opening of Europe Day will be marked at noon on the main stage, where the results of the run will be announced followed after by the welcome speeches.
From 2pm there will be free concerts on the main stage with popular local music stars Márk Járai (from Halott Pénz), András Lovasi, and Co Lee (Live Band).
Throughout the festival info tents of various organizations including EU institutions will be open to visitors. All programs event are free of charge, the organisers told MTI.
