An exhibition entitled Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Century will be formally opened by Speaker László Kövér at the Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday. The works 178 works on display from more than 100 painters include 20 by Rembrandt and three by Vermeer.

The Hungarian State Opera House will celebrate the 130th anniversary of its opening with a gala evening on Sept. 27. The programme will begin by evoking the grand opening on this day in 1884, Szilveszter Ókovács, the Opera House’s director told a press conference.

Hungarian painter Mihály Munkácsy’s famous Christ Trilogy will be separated, as Christ before Pilate (1881) is returning to Canada after talks between Hungarian government officials and the owner fell through, Déri Museum spokesman Attila Nehéz told MTI.
