There will be music performances, guided walks for children and adults, plus unusual guided tours and special lectures too.
Art historian Anikó Katona, curator of the exhibition The Art of Life, will give a lecture entitled Paris, Munich, Vienna, Budapest - the international relations of the Hungarian poster.
Entitled Seduction and Modernity - Female Roles in Art Nouveau Posters, the unusual guided tour by writer and art historian Rita Halász will discuss how women became iconic figures in advertisements, how posters reflected the roles of women at the time, and what social changes they foreshadowed.
Those interested are also invited to a creative workshop; the session entitled Art Nouveau Poster Making will be led by artist Alexandra Hegedűs.
Entitled Majestic or Bucolic?, artist Rita Süveges will give an unusual guided tour of the exhibition Habitat. Nature and Landscape Constructions, where her work Black Gold is also on display. The artist examines how the landscape becomes a culturally constructed image, and what the relationship between man and landscape is like in the era of late capitalism.
As the website of the Hungarian National Gallery states, the theme of the 2025 Night of Museums is the Jókai Memorial Year. Mór Jókai's oeuvre, novels and thoughts have been so deeply embedded in our culture that his influence is still unavoidable - they write, adding: similarly, generations have grown up on the masterpieces in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery, so the meeting of these two offers much to discover this evening.
In the permanent collection, museum educator Bettina Bali will give a guided tour of the exhibition titled Jókai's Favorite: The Paintings of Mihály Munkácsy, Poor Rich. Poverty in the Light of Gothic by art historian Brigitta Molnár, and Poetry and Palette. Jókai's Poetry in the Mirror of Paintings by art historian Mária Váczi.
Art historian Gábor Bellák will give a lecture entitled Hungarian Art through the Eyes of Mór Jókai. Art historian Adrienn Prágai will give a lecture entitled "Shall I be a poet, a painter, or an architect?" Painting dreams and romantic reality in the life of Mór Jókai.
Sára Major and art historian Linda Alexandra Tarr await visitors for guided tours titled Intertwinings.
The Night of Museums also offers musical programs, including a concert by the Nagy Balázs Trio and the Vass Lajos Choir.
Among the guided tours for children, the Mustache Tour, with art historian Mária Váczi, will take participants to discover the funniest and most interesting faces in the museum. The And Yet the Earth Moves Tour, with art historian Evelin Petrőcz, will take children on an adventure through Europe on land, water and air, and they can fly to the Middle East and distant, exotic countries in their imagination.
