The option to ask the Tax and Customs Office (NAV) to prepare personal income tax returns is increasingly popular, daily Magyar Nemzet said. As many as 317,000 people requested it last year, up from 290,000 in 2013 and 231,000 in 2012, the paper said, citing NAV figures.

The State Audit Office (ÁSZ) has found discrepancies at the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) during a recent screening, ÁSZ told MTI. The shortcomings identified were under the headings of internal regulations, up-to-date management tools, risk management and the paper trail system in audits, ÁSZ said in a statement.
