On Friday morning, Austria closed the border crossing point connecting Nickelsdorf on the Austrian side with Hegyeshalom on the Hungarian side in both directions. Central Budapest’s Nyugati pályaudvar railway station has reopened after a two-week maintenance period in the early hours of Monday, meaning that passenger trains are again serving the station according to regular schedules. Most of the station has been opened to passengers, although there are still obstacles to pedestrian traffic on the building’s side towards the WestEnd shopping mall.
