All drivers of the community taxi service company Uber that were checked by tax officials in a recent survey had violated the rules, the Economy Ministry announced on Friday. Tax officials fined every one of the drivers they checked at the behest of the ministry.

The UN High Commission for Human Rights office on Friday heavily criticised the Hungarian national consultation on immigration. Spokeswoman Cecile Pouilly said in Geneva that the content of the national consultation is “extremely biased” for suggesting a connection between migration and terrorism.

Normal service will resume on Budapest’s 4 and 6 tram lines from Sunday as the track renovation works that began in March will be completed. Trams have not been running between Széll Kálmán tér and Oktogon. The upgrade of the tracks is expected to speed up tram services.

Only euros and Croatian kuna will be accepted by motorway toll booths in Croatia from June 1, the Rijeka daily Novi List reports, citing a decision by Croatian motorway company HAC made at the end of April. As a result no Hungarian forint can be used any more. Bank cards will be accepted.
