Hungarian Tax Office Finds & Fines Uber Drivers
All drivers of the community taxi service company Uber that were checked by tax officials in a recent survey had violated the rules, the Economy Ministry announced on Friday. Tax officials fined every one of the drivers they checked at the behest of the ministry.

They found that drivers did not have tax numbers, did not provide receipts and did not have taxi licences or taxi meters.

The Uber service, which puts passengers and drivers in touch through a smartphone app, is cheaper than regular taxi services. Taxi companies say it should be regulated as their own services are.
