The document is a declaration of cooperation aimed at preventing the illegal trade of nuclear and radioactive substances. As part of the treaty, a van fitted with radiation detection equipment was donated to the Counter Terrorism Centre (TEK).

The level of the Danube peaked in Budapest at 891cm at 4 a.m. Monday, exceeding the previous record of 860cm reached in 2006. There was no catastrophe at the city’s two most vulnerable sites of Batthyány tér and Margaret Island, nor anywhere else in the city, mayor István Tarlós declared at a joint press conference with the prime minister.
