Government film commissioner Andy Vajna may purchase television channel TV2 in a matter of weeks or months, Népszabadság reports. Current owners Zsolt Simon and Yvonne Dederick do not appear to have funds to pay the estimated Ft 5 billion purchase price to ProSiebenSat 1, the German company from which they bought TV2 at the end of 2013, the newspaper adds.

One person suffered severe and one light injuries in an explosion at the Richter pharmaceutical factory in Kõbánya, Budapest’s Tenth District, on Thursday. Disaster Control spokesman Máté Kisdi said the explosion occurred when workers attempted to cut open a small tank that had earlier contained methanol. Kisdi said there is no chemical threat.

A brief disturbance broke out among migrants entering Hungary at the camp near the Serbian border on Wednesday. Police used tear gas to restore order, an MTI correspondent reported. They affirmed that the barrier will be completed by August 31. Hungarian police caught more than 3,400 illegal migrants on Friday and Saturday, an indication that construction of the fence to date has not slowed the influx of refugees.
