Awacs Plane To Be Based In Hungary

NATO will deploy an E3A Awacs reconnaissance plane in Hungary for a military exercise to be held in the middle of September, Napi Gazdaság reports. Its presence is important, as the aircraft may be necessary to collect information about enemy air and land activities in supporting NATO units preparing for a possible conflict in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, the newspaper adds.
In addition, 22 planes from various NATO countries will be deployed for the manoeuvres at Pápa air base
A 400-strong military crew will also arrive from 12 countries for a personnel recovery course.
