The average gross wage in Hungary rose by 10.7% year-on-year to 274,800 forints (EUR 848) in February, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Net wages grew at the same rate as gross wages, also climbing by 10.7% to 182,700 forints (EUR 582.9).

Hungary’s construction sector output climbed an annual 15.2% in February, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show. The sector’s output was up by 18.5% in January after declining for twelve months in a row. The increases both in January and February were from a low base.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley said their forecast is for a temporary slowdown to an annual 2.8% in March after a 2.9% reading in February, following downside surprises in Germany and Spain.
