The number of smokers in Hungary has fallen dramatically thanks to government measures taken to protect non-smokers in the past few years, state secretary for health Miklós Szócska said. A recent survey shows that while 28% of the adult population used to smoke on a daily basis in 2012, that ratio dropped to 19% in 2013.

The aim of the ATOME (Access to Opioid Medication in Europe) Project is to improve access by patients to opioid medication in those 12 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, where the per capita consumption of morphine is very low, as shown by statistical evidence.
