Gábor Czene of Népszabadság conducted an interview with Tamás Fabiny, bishop of the northern district of the Hungarian Lutheran Church. Fabiny was ordained in Erlangen, Germany in 1982. He also studied in the United States. In addition to his church activities he worked for Duna TV. Since 2010 he has been the vice chairman of the Lutheran World Federation.

With the support of the Szeged-Csanad Diocese and the Gal Ferenc College, the St. Gellert Festival is going to be organized for the 5th time between 21-30 September. The main purpose of the concert series, bearing the name of one of the first bishops of Hungary, is to invite the music loving audience of the region, and to express a strong connection between religion, music and spirituality.

Political, religious, and local community leaders unanimously condemned the anti-Semitic assault against a rabbi in Budapest. Civil associations also raised their voice in support of Chief Rabbi József Scweitzer. Chief Rabbi Emeritus József Schweitzer was accosted by a man who swore at him and shouted, „I hate all Jews.” The incident took place in Budapest June 5, 2012.

"In Vancouver on Saturday one hundred people took the oath of Hungarian citizenship, and a further three hundred took part in a commemoration event for the 1848 Revolution. Bence Rétvári, the Parliamentary Minister of State at the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, also took part in the event.
