Two Top Hungarian Kayakers Suspended After Positive Drugs Tests

A male and a female kayaker have had their membership in the Hungarian national team suspended after a drug test conducted at a training camp in Dunavarsány, south of Budapest, revealed that the two had been taking cocaine. The case does not classify as a doping violation because drug usage was detected at a routine check and not before a competition event.

As part of their newspaper project some Year 6 pupils at BISB kindly requested to interview Mr John Marshall the Chairman of Vác FC last week as they searched for stories to feature in their international sports section. The club were happy to accept and in line with their social initiative ‘Vác FC in the Community’ the Vác FC Owner was more than delighted to participate.

Car maker Audi announced on Saturday that it has cancelled its sponsorship contract with football club Gyõri ETO, due to the scandal of the Quaestor financial group. Quaestor owns the sports club, as well as its stadium, and the attached shopping mall and hotel.

In its latest research, the Swiss-based International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) sought to identify footballers between the ages of 18 of 23 who are already defining figures of local soccer championships in spite of their young age. The list includes one Hungarian player, Levente Jova.
