Hungarian Footballer Named Among Europe’s Most Promising Young Talents
In its latest research, the Swiss-based International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) sought to identify footballers between the ages of 18 of 23 who are already defining figures of local soccer championships in spite of their young age. The list includes one Hungarian player, Levente Jova.

The research extended to not only the top European – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish - championships, but also 26 other European championships in two categories.

The latter group was subdivided into seven mid-strength leagues and 19 “stepping-stone” championships, including the Hungarian NB I.

The study lists footballers born between 1 January 1992 and 1 January 1995 by name, on the basis of experience, which is an average figure derived from the number of championship matches weighted by the strenght of the championship and the club’s domestic and international performance.

Levente Jova, the single Hungarian on the entire list, is fifth among goalkeepers. The goalkeeper for the Budapest team Ferencváros (FTC) was listed among the best for his performance in his 73 title matches so far.

He was named among the top five despite gathering his points during previous years because in the running season, he has only played in two Hungarian Cup matches.

CIES, founded in 1995, regularly carries out surveys on European football trends. Its two most important partners are FIFA and FIBA.
