The Budapest Summer Festival presents one of Verdi's most popular romantic operas in this year's programme: Il trovatore. Director László Vámos sets the stage for a traditional performance while we step into a new powerful yet timely visual world created by Attila Csikós. The New York Metropolitan Opera Live in HD broadcast series for 2017-2018 comprises two operas by Mozart and two by Puccini, as well as one piece each from Bellini, Thomas Adés, Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi and Massenet. The new season offers a new Met production, along with two Met premieres to the millions of viewers in the nearly 70 countries participating in the programme.

From the organisers: One afternoon in the summer of 2002, I was drinking wine with one of my musician friends in a garden in Veszprém. He told me that he had seen Pavarotti in Austria, performing in a cathedral which had room for about a thousand people.
He was surprised, that the Maestro gave a concert in such a small place.
