Some 250 people working for state-owned media outlets will be dismissed in the first week of December, Népszabadság reports. More than 30 will be dismissed from the news agency MTI, 80 from Magyar Rádió and nearly 140 from MTV and Duna TV. State media manager MTVA announced in late October that it was preparing to dismiss 250-260 staff.

Around 250 guests, including notable local celebrities from television, film, and media, attended the "VIP" opening event on August 25th. The event was covered by Hungarian National TV and press. The restaurant opened to the public this Monday, August 27th, with 56 of the ‘world famous’ Hooters Girls in attendance to welcome and serve customers.

Team GB might not have won any medals on 8 August (although we were very happy to see Hungary doing so well), but for me it was a day of firsts: Day 1 of the Festival was also the first anniversary of my arrival in Budapest and I made my first visit to the Sziget Festival and my first speech in Hungarian.

RTL Klub presented the wrong man as the victim of an anti-Semitic attack on Tuesday. RTL Klub reported that a man around 70 was beaten by young people last Friday because he is Jewish. The report, made by András Novák, failed to state accurately that it was a 58-year-old man attacked, not last Friday but about 45 days ago on Kertész utca.
