The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has ruled that the Hungarian state must pay Ft 800,000 each to Erzsébet Gy. Németh and Szilvia Kovács Frank. Both were Socialist MPs until 2010 and collected severance pay, which the Orbán cabinet punished by imposing a 98% special tax on it.

The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg awarded €16,000 in compensation and €900 in legal expenses to a former tax office employee who sued the government over its 98% tax on severance pay introduced in 2010.
