Sunday morning Lydia and I explored the newish Szimplakert Haztaji Piac (open Sunday 9-14, Kazinczy u. 14, VII ker). I cannot stand the crowds at night at Szimpla, so I tend to avoid it. So here we came – a Hungarian family and friends – supporting someone special at the XXX. London Summer Olympic Games Modern Pentathlon event. That morning we hit the road as early as 06.00 as our hotel was around South Croydon and we had to get to Stratford by 7.30 for the first event held in the Olympic Park. I have been cycling up to Romai Part and Szentendre for years, and have always loved the four water and coal-clock towers at the old gas works. Luckily they have managed to survive (so far) the reconstruction of the old chemical works as an industrial park. In 1908 a municipal decision was made to replace several obsolete gas factories with a single new facility.

As a minimum, most pediatricans recommend a well-child exam before your child enters kindergarten and before entering high school. A conference was held today at the Balassi Institute in Budapest on the experiences of teaching Hungarian language and culture. Speeches were also made at the event by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Administration and Justice Tibor Navracsics and Minister of State for Social Relations Zoltán Kovács.
