In keeping with the theme of this year’s, the seventh, Smiling Hospital Charity Gala on February 13, no better overture could be had than an imprimatur from Julie Andrews, “… There is no more precious gift that can be given in life than to help and assist anyone who is suffering… particularly a child. I applaud you and your humanity, and the tireless work of Dr. Albert Royaards….”

"Our whole life is nothing more than a singular pilgrimage to rediscover the lost child within us,” György Kurtág once said. The ambivalent fascination, the complete openness and the fiery adoration that one or other figure from music history was able to inspire in the composer suggest that he was successfully reunited with the child in question.

The 2016 programme for Müpa Budapest's now customary and increasingly popular Chinese New Year concerts provides an introduction to different regions of the enormous country, and the traditional music of their various ethnic groups played on traditional instruments that are still used to this day, while also illustrating the ever closer points of contact between Chinese and Western music.

Singer-researcher Irén Lovász has based her record series Healing Voices on the therapeutic power of archaic Hungarian folk songs. This Soundscape concert came into being as a re-conception of the album Inner Voice.
