5 medals have been given to Hungarian wines at the latest edition (Spring Tasting) of Mundus Vini international wine contest. 19 wines received gold medal, 2 of them are dry white – both by Tornai Winery from Somló – 2 sparkling wines, 5 of them are sweet Tokaj wines and 10 of the gold winners are red wines.

Hungaryʼs Varga Winery has won a total of nine gold medals at the Vinalies Internationales Competition in Paris and the Wine Trophy competition in Berlin, according to a press release.

Hungarian wines have fetched several prizes at Asia Wine Trophy in South Korea, which is the largest wine expo in Asia, the foreign ministry said. A total of 37 Hungarian wines were presented at the event, and two received silver, nine received gold and Pannon Tokaj cellars’ Dominium 6 puttony aszú finished as the category winner, fetching a gold medal, ministry commissioner Gyula Budai said.
