Team GB might not have won any medals on 8 August (although we were very happy to see Hungary doing so well), but for me it was a day of firsts: Day 1 of the Festival was also the first anniversary of my arrival in Budapest and I made my first visit to the Sziget Festival and my first speech in Hungarian.

The Budapest Transport Centre and a sports marketing office have placed TV screens on some city trams to allow fans of the Olympics to watch the games while they travel. The TVs will appear on the 1, 1A, 3, and 61 trams during the Olympics.

RTL Klub presented the wrong man as the victim of an anti-Semitic attack on Tuesday. RTL Klub reported that a man around 70 was beaten by young people last Friday because he is Jewish. The report, made by András Novák, failed to state accurately that it was a 58-year-old man attacked, not last Friday but about 45 days ago on Kertész utca.
