The government has received the opinion of the European Commission on the planned cut in the VAT on internet services, but the government insists on cutting the VAT from 27% to 18% from January 1, 2017, digital affairs commissioner Tamás Deutsch told Magyar Idõk.

Data available show that more than 18% of parents have taken up a loan to pay for the items such as clothing and equipment their children need to start school.
