A decline in the number of births and the low number of new homes built show that the government’s family policy is not working, the opposition Socialists said. The number of births dropped by an unprecedented rate in 2011 to 88,000 and this number has increased only insignificantly since.

The opposition Socialists said Viktor Orbán’s talks with David Cameron had been a “failure”. The Socialists expected Orbán to take a more courageous stand for the interests of Hungarians working in the UK, Socialist member of parliament’s foreign affairs committee Attila Mesterhazy said, adding that Orbán was only helping out Cameron, who was in Hungary as part of an international tour.

NEBIH (National Food Chain Safety Office) Special Affairs Directorate checked a meat wholesale business in Pest county at the request of NAV (National Tax and Tariffs Office) Pest county Tax Directorate. During the procedure more than 22 tons of meat-product was seized by the professionals, and they also discovered a gyros producing facility operating without a license, origo.hu wrote.
