These visits reflect the importance which the Government places on its relationships with its Central European partners. Among the themes of the tour will be climate change and the environment, heritage conservation, knowledge-based economy, diversity, culture and youth employment.
The tour starts in Warsaw, continues in Budapest and finishes in Prague.
The Prince and The Duchess will meet the President and Prime Minister of Hungary and undertake a variety of engagements in Budapest. The Royal Couple will also spend time outside the capital exploring how Hungary is protecting and conserving its built heritage over the centuries.
On the occasion of visit HM Ambassador Greg Dorey said:
"During my first posting to Hungary I was involved in the first official visit of HRH The Prince of Wales in 1990. So I am delighted to be assisting with this visit of HRH and his wife The Duchess of Cornwall twenty years later. We are planning a programme that will reflect a number of themes of particular current importance to the UK government. I know that TRH are greatly looking forward to coming here."
The Prince of Wales has made three official visits to Hungary in 1990, 1994 and 2000. It will be The Duchess of Cornwall’s first official visit to Hungary."
