Hungary MOL To Hike Fuel Prices Significantly This Week
"Hungarian fuels group MOL will raise the price of gasoline and diesel by HUF 4 and HUF 8 per litre, respectively on Thursday, Portfolio.hu has learned on Monday. The company’s move is no surprise, considering the increase in fuel rates over the past week.

MOL will increase the gross wholesale list price of both gasoline and diesel by HUF 4 and HUF 8 per litre, respectively on Thursday (5 May). As a result retailers will pay HUF 324.5 per litre for gasoline and HUF 304.9 per litre for diesel based on MOL list prices.

Although each petrol station has its own pricing model, drivers should expect to pay about HUF 4-8 more per litre for these fuel types at the pumps - HUF 341-342 for gasoline and HUF 320-321 for a litre of diesel oil.

MOL's move comes as no surprise, considering that gasoline rates rose by 0.6% in USD and 2.5% in HUF last week (by the end of Friday, as the forint has eased markedly vs. the greenback to around 201.30 from 197.40) and diesel rates went up by 1.3% in USD and 3.3% in HUF terms.

MOL has not increased its fuel list prices for some time now (8 April). Relative to the base of company’s last price call (2 April in our view), gasoline rates rose 2.6% and diesel rates went up 6.7% on the world market in HUF terms."
